A magistrate has decided rugby league player Anthony Laffranchi will not stand trial over an alleged rape.
The Gold Coast Titans player was accused of raping a 26-year-old woman at Five Dock in Sydney's west in 2006.
But his alleged victim told a Sydney court she had no memory of the incident and Laffranchi's lawyer told a committal hearing the woman was drunk at the time, but able to make decisions.
A magistrate in Burwood Local Court has decided there is insufficient evidence for the case to proceed.
Laffranchi was on the books at Wests Tigers at the time of the offence.
