Police say they had to use a Taser gun on a brother and sister after they allegedly assaulted officers in the Sydney CBD early this morning.
Officers say the siblings were using a metal pole to smash the windows of shops and a car on Erskine Street about 2:00am AEDT. Four shop fronts and one vehicle were damaged.
Police tracked the 28-year-old man and the 31-year-old woman to an apartment on the corner of Shelley and Cuthbert Streets and tried to arrest the pair.
When police tried to arrest the man they say he attacked the five officers and had to be Tasered.
While the man was being arrested and handcuffed, the woman allegedly started to attack the police officers.
The police used capsicum spray on the woman, but when it had no effect they Tasered her too.
The pair have been charged with assaulting police, resisting arrest and malicious damage.
The audio and video from the Taser will be downloaded and reviewed.
