A 57-year-old Catholic priest has been sentenced to 15 years' prison for 18 sex offences involving seven boys.
Judge Robert Hulme sentenced Paul Raymond Evans in the NSW District Court on Friday for molesting students while at Boystown, Engadine, in Sydney's south from 1977 to 1988.
He was given a 15-year sentence with a non-parole period of nine and a half years.
A jury in July found Evans guilty of nine counts of homosexual intercourse by a teacher, seven counts of indecent assault and two acts of indecency.
Evans, a member of the Catholic order the Salesians of Don Bosco, had been a dormitory master at Boys Town, Engadine, in Sydney's south.
