A man who climbed into a sleeping 10-year-old girl's Melbourne bedroom and sexually assaulted her has been jailed for nine years.
Father-of-one Stephen Maurice, 32, removed a flywire screen and climbed through the front bedroom window of the girl's Sunshine home on October 15 last year.
She was asleep in the top bunk and was awoken by Maurice who put his hands under the cover and sexually assaulted her.
Victorian County Court Judge Paul Lacava said Maurice's offending was "offensive, repugnant and intolerable".
He jailed Maurice for nine years with a minimum of seven years.
