Amnesty Stands Up Against Poverty

STAND UP Against Poverty is a global call to take action against poverty and inequality.

On the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (17 October), Amnesty International Australia will join the Make Poverty History Coalition, a group of aid agencies and community organisations, to call on our Government to do its fair share to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and halve global poverty by 2015.

Last year, STAND UP Against Poverty set a new Guinness World Record with 43.7 million people participating worldwide.

This year, events will be held across Australia again for STAND UP Against Poverty.
