A driver who recorded what is believed to be Victoria's highest blood alcohol reading for a woman, has been sentenced to six months jail.
Forty-eight year old Heather Higgins suffered only minor injuries when she crashed and rolled her car at Moorooduc on the Mornington Peninsula in February.
In hospital, she recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.462, more than nine times the legal limit.
Today she pleaded guilty to reckless conduct endangering life, and driving under the influence.
The court heard she had drunk four to six cans of a pre-mixed vodka drink just before the crash.
Her lawyer said she was a severe alcoholic who had sought treatment and was remorseful.
But the magistrate said it was a serious offence that called for a harsh penalty.
Higgins has been released on bail pending an appeal.
