Robert John Parnell has been jailed for 19 years.
A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to life in jail with a 19 year minimum for what a Perth judge described as the calculated murder of his former partner.
Robert John Parnell pleaded guilty to wilfully murdering Anne Marie Budd at her Warnbro home in August last year.
The Supreme Court was told Parnell strangled Ms Budd and stayed in the house with her body for two days.
He also made several attempts to kill himself before her ex-husband came to the house and discovered her body.
