Almost 100 staff working in Queensland youth detention centres have reported being assaulted between 2005 and 2007.
The State Government has revealed the figures in answer to an Opposition question on notice.
Queensland has two youth detention centres in Brisbane and Cleveland and so far this year, four staff have reported assaults.
A spokeswoman for Communities Minister Lindy Nelson-Carr says the perpetrators can be further disciplined, workers are offered counselling and staff numbers were recently increased to try to curb violence.
Question: Almost 'how many' youth in Queensland's Youth Detention centres have been 'assaulted' or 'mistreated' and not reported between 2005 and 2007?
